Missionaries/Church Planters We Support

The Lebanon Bible Fellowship Church specifically supports seven missionary families and two church planting families, as well as the director of the BFC Board of Missions and the director of Church Extension.  These families are:

Kyle and Jenny Merkey
The Merkeys serve with JAARS, the aviation arm of Wycliffe Bible Translators, in Waxhaw, NC.  Kyle is the shop manager, with expertise in tool and die making.  He regularly tools parts for airplanes that are no longer commercially available.  Jenny cares for their son, Trey, and also teaches part-time at Columbia International University.

Craig and Karena Miller
The Millers are currently doing Spanish language study, preparing to start a new ministry in the Canary Islands.  Craig's area of ministry with CrossWorld is evangelism and church planting.  Craig and Karena have three children: Claudia, Weston and Olivia.

Tony and Joanna Murrin
Tony is an airplane pilot serving in a primitive area of Bolivia with Ripe for the Harvest World Outreach. Joanna assists with radio communication, etc., as well as caring for their three children: Drew, Laura and Julie.  Their oldest son, Tony, is currently a student at Lancaster Bible College.

Jeff and Emmy Ort
Jeff and Emmy are serving with the branch of Bible-Centered Ministries, Handivangelism, that reaches out to mentally and physically challenged persons.  They conduct camps for these youth at Big Sky Camp in Montana, where they live.  They also conduct regular 'Kids Night Out' programs to enable the families of these children and youth to have a free evening.  Their four children are Keith, Jacob, Kara, and Simon.

David and Becky Riddell
David and Becky live in Osny, France, a suburb of Paris.  David is the International Director of WorldTeam.  Their primary focus is church planting.  They oversee and assist missionary teams in evangelism and gathering believers to worship and minister together.  Their daughter Julia is presently in college in the United States.

John and Laura Studenroth
John has a much needed ministry to college professors in the Eastern PA region.  He also does a good bit of discipling college students. Laura home schools their younger daughters, Claire and Christine.  Their oldest daughter, Elizabeth, is currently a student at Columbia International University.

Dana and Lanette Weller
(Director of the BFC Board of Missions)
Dana oversees the work of caring for the many missionaries supported by the Bible Fellowship Churches.  He specifically provides encouragement and emotional support, as well as gathering prayer & financial support for them.






Raymond and Louise Bertolet
Raymond is an an Assistant Church Planter with BFC Church Extension Ministries, with the responsibility of helping various church planting pastors with outreach, Bible studies, etc.  He is presently doing demographic work and attempting to start works in the Milford, Delaware area.  

Albert and Bonnie Dommel
Al serves as pastor at the Saucon Community BFC, in Hellertown, PA.  God has recently blessed their church with new growth.  They are currently reaching out to persons in the Saucon Valley of Lehigh County, PA.

David & Donna Gundrum
(Director of BFC Church Extension Ministries)
David oversees the planting of new and daughter churches within the BFC.  He seeks men who are called by God to pastor in these areas of ministry.  He also encourages and supports the workers and pastors of our denomination's mission-church plants.

Missions Within Our Church

We are pleased to have many individuals within our congregation serving the Lord in some missionary capacity, either locally or nationally:

Members Bruce and Amber Althouse are volunteering as house parents to teenage girls at the Fold Family Ministries in Lyndonville, Vermont.  They are sharing the love of Christ and providing a warm, nurturing and homelike atmosphere.

Several of our teens are also serving as summer missionaries at various camps throughout Pennsylvania.  Kelsey Burkholder and Michelle Arnick are currently working at Pinebrook Bible Conference (a ministry of the BFC).  Kara Bomgardner is serving in various ways at Victory Valley Camp (also a BFC ministry), and Kyle Landiak is working as a lifegaurd and counselor at Spruce Lake Bible Conference, near Mt. Pocono, PA.

In addition to these, our church also supports local missions agencies such as the Lebanon Youth for Christ, Susquehanna Valley Pregnancy Center, Lebanon County CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship), directed by one of our elders, Ralph Bechtel, and also the Lebanon Rescue Mission, where fellow members Paul and Jenny Topping serve as staff.




Missions Emphasis Prayer Meetings

Every second Wednesday of the month we hold a special Missions Emphasis Prayer Meeting.  During this time, we invite various BFC missionaries to share some of their experiences, prayer requests, and updates from their mission field.  It is wonderful time to get to know some of the missionaries within our denomination and to pray for them in a very intentional way.  We also remember the missionaries and church planters supported by LBFC every Wednesday night, as we receive their specific prayer requests week by week.
