Deacons Ministries

Following the pattern set forth in the Scriptures, the deacons at the Lebanon Bible Fellowship Church exist to serve people in need. The deacons do not lead by ruling or teaching, but rather by service and by caring for the physical needs of the congregation.

From left to right, our deacons are: (top row) Craig D. Rice (secretary), Barry D. Hostetter (treasurer), Kevin E. Hostetter, Charles D. Bomgardner, (bottom row) Rev. LeRoy S. Heller, Stephen A. Herb, Jack S. Herb, Jr. (chairman), and Louis F. DiFava (not pictured).

Special Occasions Committee

This committee is chaired by Kevin Hostetter and has several functions: It oversees the meal ministry for hospitalized persons and new mothers, it oversees banquets that are church-sponsored, and it directs the care package ministry to college students and military personnel.

Nursery Committee

This committee is chaired by Charlie Bomgardner and deals with the use and coordination of the nursery and its workers during worship services.

Hospitality Ministry

Also chaired by Charlie Bomgardner, this committee coordinates the use of willing people of the church to provide meals and/or housing to guest speakers that we have at our church.

Transportation Ministry

This ministry provides transportation on an as-need basis for those with this type of need. It also provides transportation to doctor visits, store, bank, etc. for those with this type of need, as well as the running of errands, etc. for shut-ins. This ministry is led by Todd Good.

Personal Care Equipment Ministry

The deacons have the following personal care equipment available:
Portable hospital beds (1 power operated, 1 manually operated)
Stationary potty chairs
Potty chair on wheels
Potty stand (sits on the toilet)
Serving tables (for over the bed)
Folding Walker solid walker Cane
Wheel Chair at Church
Independent Wheel Chair (patient can push or maneuver by themselves)
Dependent Wheel Chair (a friend needs to push you around)

This ministry is led by Stephen Herb.

Food Needs Ministry

This ministry coordinates the providing of food, groceries, etc. to families that request help because of difficult situations. This ministry is led by Barry Hostetter.

Compassion Ministry

This ministry coordinates the serving of a meal after a funeral in which one of our pastors officiates, providing a time for family and friends to grieve with and comfort one another after a death. This ministry is led by Craig Rice.

Financial Assistance Ministry

This ministry coordinates the use of funds to supply families in need with a little extra help to make it through difficult situations.

Visitation Committee

Through this committee, the deacons make regular visits to shut-ins and widows or widowers of the church family. This ministry is primarily led by Pastor Heller, though all deacons participate in this ministry as well.

Indoor/Outdoor Task Ministry

This ministry, led by Kevin Hostetter, coordinates willing people to provide services (shoveling snow, raking leaves, light housekeeping, etc.) for people in our church who are unable to accomplish these particular tasks.
